Terms of Service RippleAdz provides a service that enable people to earn from a network of people by watching adverts, and give companies the opportunity to grow their businesses through effective and targeted marketing. These Terms govern your use of the platform, the services and software that we offer, except where we expressly state that separate terms (and not these) apply. These services are provided to you by RippleAdz. We do charge you to use RippleAdz’s network (certain features are for free when choosing demographics, and as decided by management, from time-to-time specials will be offered that may include free offerings) or the other products and services covered by these Terms, unless we state otherwise. Instead, businesses, organisations and other persons pay us to show you ads for their products and services. By using our Platform, you agree that we can show you ads that we think may be relevant to you and your interests. We use your personal data to help determine which personalised ads to show you. We don’t sell your personal data to advertisers, and we don’t share information that directly identifies you (such as your name, email address or other contact information) with advertisers unless you give us specific permission. Instead, advertisers can choose which demographic and the kind of audience that they want to see their ads, and we show those ads to people who may be part of that demographic. We provide advertisers with reports about the performance of their ads that help them understand how people are interacting with their content. See Section 2 below to learn more about how personalised advertising under these Terms works on the RippleAdz network. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your personal data to determine some of the ads that you see and provide all of the other services described below. You can also go to your profile page any time to review the privacy choices that you have about how we use your data. 1. Connect you with people and organisations that you care about: We help you find and connect with people, groups, businesses, organisations and others that matter to you across the RippleAdz platform you use. We use data to make suggestions for you about the demographic you choose to advertise – for example, area, age, gender, income bracket, type of car, insurance, just to mention a few to send an advert to. We believe that our services are most useful when people are not spammed with useless information or adverts, people react better to adverts once it’s part of their interest. Help you discover content, products and services that may interest you: We show you personalised ads, offers and other commercial content to help you discover content, products and services that are offered by the many businesses and organisations that use RippleAdz. Section 2 below explains this in more detail. Promote the safety, security and integrity of our services, combat harmful conduct and keep our community of users safe: People will only join the RippleAdz network if they feel safe and secure. We work hard to maintain the security (including the availability, authenticity, integrity and confidentiality) of our members data and services. We employ dedicated people, work with external service providers, partners and other relevant entities and develop advanced technical systems to detect potential misuse of our network, harmful conduct towards members and situations where we may be able to help support or protect our members, including to respond to user reports of potentially violating content. If we learn of content or conduct such as this, we may take appropriate action based on our assessment that may include notifying you, offering help, removing content, removing or restricting access to certain features, disabling an account or contacting law enforcement. We share data across the platform when we detect misuse or harmful conduct by advertisers or users using our platform or to help keep our users and the community safe. RippleAdz may access, preserve, use and share any information it collects about you where it has a good faith belief that it is required or permitted by law to do so. For more information, please review our Privacy Policy. Use and develop advanced technologies to provide safe and functional services for everyone: We use and develop advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning systems and augmented reality so that people can use our platform and system safely regardless of physical ability or geographic location. For example, technology such as this helps advertisers to make sure that adverts are watched and rated as required by the advertiser. We also build sophisticated network and communication technology to help more people connect to the network in areas with limited access. And we develop automated systems to improve our ability to detect and remove abusive and dangerous activity that may harm our community and the integrity of our platform. Research ways to make our services better: We engage in research to develop, test and improve our Products. This includes analysing data that we have about our users, and understanding how people use our Products, for example by conducting surveys and testing and troubleshooting new features. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use data to support this research for the purposes of developing and improving our services. Provide consistent and seamless experiences across the Meta Company Products: Our platform help you find and connect with people, businesses that are important to you. We design our systems so that your experience is consistent and seamless across the different demographics that exist on our platform, for example, we use data about the people you engage with on RippleAdz to make it easier for you to advertise to them, and we enable you to receive 100% feedback through our survey and payment system. We use your personal data, such as information about your age, race gender salary…etc. and interests, to show you ads that are more relevant to you. Protecting people’s privacy is central to how we’ve designed our ad system. This means that we can show you relevant and useful ads without telling advertisers who you are. We don’t sell your personal data. We allow advertisers to choose a very specific demographic, and the kind of audience that they want to see their ads (for example, people between the ages of 18-35 who like cycling). We then show their ad to people who might be interested (you don’t have to view the advert). We also provide advertisers with reports about the performance of their ads to help them understand how people are interacting with their content on and off RippleAdz. For example, we provide general demographic and interest information to advertisers (the specific demographic they chose, an ad was seen by a woman between the ages of 25 and 34 who lives in Madrid and owns a car without insurance) to help them better understand their audience. We don’t share information that directly identifies you (information such as your name or email address that by itself can be used to contact you or identifies who you are) unless you give us specific permission, some adverts may request a call back or to order a certain product. Learn more about how RippleAdz ads work here. We collect and use your personal data in order to provide the services described above for you. You may designate a person (Called a legacy contact) to manage your account if it is memorialized. Overview Understanding our Advertising Standards Our Advertising Standards provide policy detail and guidance on the types of ad content we allow, and the types of ad content we prohibit. When advertisers place an advert, each ad is reviewed against our policies. Our Advertising Standards also provide guidance on advertiser behavior that may result in advertising restrictions being placed on a business account or its assets (an ad account, Page or user account). If you think that your ad was mistakenly rejected, or if you think that your business account or its assets were mistakenly restricted, you can request a review of either decision. Common points of confusion to help you build a compliant and user-friendly ads experience, we’ve highlighted some common areas of confusion. Personal attributes Ads must not contain content that asserts or implies personal attributes. This includes direct or indirect assertions or implications about a person’s race, ethnicity, religion, beliefs, age, sexual orientation or practices, gender identity, disability, physical or mental health (including medical conditions), vulnerable financial status, voting status, membership in a trade union, criminal record or name. Overview At RippleAdz, we want people in our community to have a positive experience when they see ads. Ads that make assumptions about people could be perceived as intrusive, unsettling or inaccurate. For this reason, we don’t allow advertisers to run ads that assert or imply the personal attributes of their audience. Instead, ads should focus on the benefits of the product or service being advertised. Guidelines Ads can’t: Assert or imply that the advertiser is aware of someone’s personal attributes or the personal attributes of their family Assert or imply that the advertiser is aware of someone’s personally identifiable information, such as their name Assert or imply that the advertiser is aware of someone’s voting status Request information about someone’s personal attributes Address sensitive personal preferences and practices, such as sexual orientation or practice Ads can: Broadly reference personal attributes that aren’t listed above, such as calling someone “Black” or “White” to reference where they live. Contain passing reference to a personal attribute. This includes gender, age groups or age ranges. Include names of celebrities or fictional characters. Use “you/your” language without a personal attribute. Make public service announcements that inform the public about issues related to personal health attributes, as long as they don’t assert someone or their family has a health condition. Adult content Ads must not contain adult content. This includes nudity, depictions of people in explicit or suggestive positions, or activities that are overly suggestive or sexually provocative. Ads that assert or imply the ability to meet someone, connect with them or view content created by them must not be positioned in a sexual way or with an intent to sexualise the person featured in the ad. Overview This policy provides additional protections for people who use our technologies beyond what is prohibited in the Community Standards’ Adult Nudity and Sexual Activity policy. Advertisers can’t run ads that contain adult content. As a global company, we take into account the wide array of people from different cultures and countries who see ads on our platform, and their varying cultural sensitivities around adult content. We understand that nudity can be shared for a variety of reasons and make certain exceptions in ads related to art and health. Guidelines Ads can’t: Depict nudity where otherwise permitted by the Community Standards or implied nudity, such as removing clothes Depict excessive visible skin, even if not explicitly sexual in nature Contain images focused on individual body parts, even if not explicitly sexual in nature Promote dating services where the focus of the ad is on a partly clothed model Ads can: Show photographs of paintings, sculptures and other art that depicts nude figures, as long as there’s no explicit focus on nude private body parts or sexual acts Include focus on private body parts in the context of breastfeeding or breast health, as long as there’s no explicit nudity Depict nipples in the context of breast health, as long as the ad creatives are illustrations or medical diagrams and target people aged 18 or older Advertising restrictions on business assets In addition to reviewing ads, we monitor and investigate the behaviour of advertisers on our technologies. In some cases, we may apply restrictions on advertisers that limit their ability to advertise. These restrictions are meant to help protect people from poor experiences and support meaningful connections across our technologies. We may apply advertising restrictions when an advertiser doesn’t follow our RippleAdz Advertising Standards or other policies and terms. We may also apply advertising restrictions in the following scenarios: We suspect an advertiser’s RippleAdz business account or business assets have been compromised or hacked. Learn more about how to secure a hacked account. An advertiser doesn’t meet our authentication requirements for account security. An advertiser is new, in which case we may apply limits on which features they can access until we can be sure they’re consistently following our policies. Advertising restrictions may include limits on the amount an advertiser can spend per day, loss of access to some advertising features, or loss of the ability to advertise through RippleAdz. Advertising restrictions for policy violations If we find that an advertiser doesn’t follow our Advertising Standards or other policies and terms, they may face advertising restrictions. The restrictions may be applied on an advertiser’s RippleAdz business account, or user account: RippleAdz business account: A type of account that connects and centralizes business assets, such as ad accounts and product catalogues, across the RippleAdz ecosystem so that people can manage these assets together as a unified online business. Ad account: An account used for managing ads across RippleAdz technologies, which allows advertisers to create ads and advertising campaigns, pay for ads and see insights and analytics and receive reports. Upload Page: A product that lets people and businesses create an advert. Every advertiser will need to have a Business Account created before they can advertise. User account: A user account, or personal account, is the account of the specific/individual person who is viewing adverts and build a network of members and is paid for his/her participation on the network. When a business account, or user account is restricted, an advertiser won’t be able to use it to advertise across our technologies. For example, if an advertiser has a restricted page, they won’t be able to run ads associated with that member. Note that if a user account is restricted from advertising it will usually be because of age and or his/her own limits on the adverts they want to receive. Below are some common examples of policy violations that may result in advertising restrictions. Violating content Ads must go through our ad review process and comply with our Advertising Standards. If we find that an advertiser runs ad content that severely or repeatedly violates our policies, we may apply advertising restrictions on their business account, or user account. Note that our ad review process may extend to the destination of an ad, such as its landing page. Read our violating content policy. Evading enforcement Any attempt to evade our review process or other enforcement actions is not allowed. If we find that an advertiser engages in this behavior, we may apply advertising restrictions on their business account, or user account. Examples of attempts to circumvent our review processes include: Attempting to create new ad accounts or other business assets after we’ve disabled existing accounts for violation of our policies Running the same or similar policy-violating ad across multiple business assets Running ads that have no clear business goals across multiple business assets Sometimes advertisers will run ads that have no clear business goals in the attempt to work around our ad review process and appear to be policy-compliant. Take the example below, which wasn’t run by a meditation, life coach or stress management business. Example ad text: “Remember to breathe today.” Example ad image:   While this ad doesn’t violate any specific content policy, it doesn’t have any clear business goal and isn’t clearly connected to the business of the page. Therefore, we may consider it suspicious behavior, and if we see this repeatedly, we may apply advertising restrictions. Account authenticity Accountability and transparency into who is running an ad is critical to the integrity of our advert ecosystem, and we want to support authentic connections between people and businesses. If we find that an inauthentic user account set up an ad account, page or business account to run ads, an advertiser may face advertising restrictions. Examples of violations of our account authenticity policy include: Use of inauthentic user accounts to set up a page, ad account or business account to run ads on our technologies Managing business assets that are associated with or connected to inauthentic user accounts, such as a business account with multiple linked ad accounts that were set up by inauthentic users Violating networks or associations Advertisers must not manage business assets that are connected to other abusive business assets or display behavior similar to business assets that we’ve already taken down. If we find that an advertiser engages in this behavior, we may apply advertising restrictions on their business account, or user account. Advertising restrictions for unusual activity When we notice unusual activity on your business account, or user account, we may temporarily restrict certain features while we investigate the issue. These restrictions can include limited advertising spending or create a new advert. There may be actions for you to take to try to resolve any restrictions, and you can review those actions in Account Quality. Note: If you suspect your business asset has been hacked, learn more about how to secure a hacked account. How to appeal advertising restrictions If you believe your business account, or user account was incorrectly restricted, you may be able to request a review of the decision in Account Quality. Always keep in mind, requesting another review of our decision will not hurt your standing with our company in any way. 2. RippleAdz advertising policy principles Advertisers contribute to the RippleAdz community in many ways, including highlighting new products and services or drawing attention to events and issues. To help keep both businesses and organizations who use our ad tools safe and create a welcoming environment for everyone who uses our products and services, we have put in place our Advertising Standards to guide what is allowed across RippleAdz technologies. Advertisers running ads across RippleAdz technologies must follow our Community Standards and our Advertising Standards. Our advertising policy principles Our policies are guided by our company’s core values and the following principles: PROTECTING PEOPLE FROM UNSAFE AND DISCRIMINATORY PRACTICES Our policies require all advertisers to comply with the laws in their jurisdiction, not engage in discriminatory practices, and not sell illegal or unsafe substances. PROTECTING PEOPLE FROM FRAUD OR SCAMS Our policies prohibit ads promoting products, services, schemes or offers using deceptive or misleading practices, including those meant to scam people out of money or personal information. PROMOTING POSITIVE USER EXPERIENCES Because ads may be delivered to people in their Feed from the application, we want to help ensure that the ads don’t detract from the overall experience across our technologies. For that reason, we prohibit ads containing shocking, sensational or excessively violent content, certain adult content and profanity. We also prohibit other objectionable material, such as content implying or attempting to generate negative self-perception in order to promote diet, weight loss or other health-related products. PROMOTING TRANSPARENCY We strive to make advertising more transparent and to give people more information about the ads they see as well as a compensation plan. It also offers additional information on ads such as questions and a slider or a “yes” or “no” option including a range of questions asked to provide accurate information about spend, insurance, cars, houses, banks and many more verticals. Ads about these topics are visible to those who are part of that specific demographic and will not receive adverts if it is not part of their demographic. We also have a page on our website where adverts are stored for up to 30 days, this page is visible to the all members on our network as well as the general public, ads can be viewed again if missed by members on the network, without compensation. Enforcement of our policies We use automated and, in some instances, manual review to enforce our policies. Beyond reviewing individual ads, we also monitor and investigate advertiser behavior, and may restrict advertiser accounts that don’t follow our Advertising Standards, Community Standards or other RippleAdz policies and terms. Our review process may not detect all policy violations, and ads remain subject to review and re-review and may be rejected for violating our policies at any time. It is an advertiser’s responsibility to understand and comply with our policies outlined in RippleAdz’s Advertising Standards, our Terms of Service and any other applicable terms and guidelines, and all local laws and regulations. Advertisers whose ads are rejected will typically be provided with an opportunity to edit their ads in order to bring them into compliance and can request another review if they believe their ad was incorrectly rejected. 3. The ad review process: Our ad review system relies primarily on automated tools to check ads and business assets against our policies. Our ad review process starts automatically before ads begin running, and is typically completed within 24 hours, although it may take longer in some cases. During this review, the status of the ad will be “In review”. Additionally, ads may be reviewed again, including after they are live. You can find more information in our Business Help Centre. What is reviewed The ad review system reviews ads for violations of our policies. This review process may include the specific components of an ad, such as images, video, text and targeting information. Business asset review We also review and take action on an advertiser’s business account or its assets (ad accounts, user accounts). As part of our review, we assess whether the account or its assets have violated our policies. Outcome of review If a violation is found at any point in the review process, the ad will be rejected, and the business account or its assets may be restricted. Lower-quality ads that do not necessarily violate our policies may experience affected performance. You can find more information about how quality may affect your ad in our Business Help Centre. If a business account or its assets (ad account or user account) is restricted, that account or asset can’t be used to advertise across our technologies. If a user account is restricted from advertising on a business account or ad account, other members of those accounts may still be able to advertise. Re-review of ads remain subject to review and re-review at all times and may be rejected or restricted for violation of our policies at any time. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with our policies. 4. What to do if your ad is rejected or if your business asset is restricted Create a new ad or edit your ad You may create a new ad or edit your ad to comply with our policies. These ads will be treated as new ads and reviewed by our ad review system. Check this Page for editing steps.
